Big News

Well, Friday we heard the heartbeat of the newest little Schmidt. He or she had a heartrate of 165 which the doctor said was nice and strong. Baby should be here around June 8th but given big brother we shall see. :) Obviously Jeremy and I are very excited but I think that Joshua may top us. He loves to talk to my tummy and kiss and hug my tummy daily. I know he will be a wonderful big brother and since I can't imagine another boy as good as he is I hope this one is a girl. (Actually I want a girl anyway I just can't see another boy being as good as Joshua...) Right now we are reading lots and lots of baby books so mommy and daddy can maybe explain to the budmiester that babies take a long time to grow in their mommies. (He wants to meet baby NOW!) But that is the end of our news. If you have any please let us know in the comments we always enjoy reading them.

Joshua's Birthday Party

Yep It's that time again! Joshua turned three today! Saturday we had a party for him here at the house and WOW was it fun. Not just for Joshua but for us. I think he had the most fun though! He got such a huge pile of presents it was unbelieveable although his favorite that night was a really simple one. One of his friends from church (Jackie Woods) gave him a whoopie cushion and he had a blast getting people to blow it up so he could sit on it and make it poot! I have pictures from his party that I will post here so those of you who were not able to be here can kinda join in the fun!

Here is his cake by the end of the party all but elmo was pretty much gone!

Joshua and Uncle Jared were having a balloon FIGHT!  We obviously went with a sesame street theme, plates, cups, napkins... Pretty much the whole nine yards!

The candle in the middle was on a little holder that played Happy Birthday! Everyone but Joshua and I hated it!

Here is the man of the hour eating his chunk of Big Bird!

Since it was kinda cold we had him open his biggest gift first!
It's a Ford F-150 with "real" lisence plates that read Joshua!
Momma and Daddy got him the truck. Grampa had the plates made for him!

Here is a pretty good picture of most of the people here for his party not everyone though some people are camera shy!
 (Here's looking at you, JARED!)

Ah yes here we are with the present of the hour that kept him in giggles! The WHOOPEE CUSHION!
And the one that thrills him still (well as long as it lasts anyway!) A whole box of BUG JUICE! Don't ask me why he likes it... I just know he does!
Another favorite his fish light. It is a night light that has a revolving fish scene in it. His Great-Aunt Judy has one at her house and he was facinated with it. Now thanks to Gramma and Ron he has his own to watch! (For which I am profoundly greatful he has quit asking me for an aquarium since he got it!)

I had to put in a shot of him enjoying his Whoopee Cushion! I just had too!!! By the way, his shirt says Major Trouble North Dakota, and for those of you to whom it is not obvious my rotten brother has his fingerprints all over it! Yes, I mean Jared! The reason he is rotten is the other gifts Joshua got from him! A WHISTLE and a ball game. When Joshua unwrapped the whistle I told Jared he would hang! Thankfully it is not a loud whistle so its ok...
Last but not least is his big present from Papa and Mimi! A Piano! Yes, Mom he loves it and plays it daily. Eventually, he will likely start piano lessons and use it to practice. But for now, he pretends to know what he is doing!

A head shaker...

Last night as we were putting Joshua to bed he decided to have this conversation with us.

To Daddy: Are you a Lady?
Daddy: No I'm I a guy
To Me: Are you a guy?
Me: No I'm a lady.
Joshua: Well you sound like a guy!
WHAT A NUT!

Crazy morning

Ok so.... We got up this morning to hear a strange sounding bird just outside the bathroom. I looked and couldn't see anything out there. BUT... Not five minutes later Jeremy called me back since it sounded closer than before.   This time when I looked there was a robin fledgling in our window well. Well Joshua wanted to see and so I held him up to see and the poor thing was just running back and forth in there. We decide to try and help it get out and So I went to catch it and let it out of the window well but the little bugger was really fast. Finally I picked up a piece of plastic and trappped it in a corner, gently picked it up and set it down outside the window well. If I had been thinking I would have taken pictures first!!! But I was just thinking "Oh the poor baby!"... Mom and Dad were shreaking at me the whole time I was rescueing their baby and I wanted to tell them "HUSH!" but of course they would not have understood... But now you know the story of our nutso morning...

Crazy day...

Ok no pictures today but a Joshua update...
Joshua has not been feeling all that great lately (I think he has the flu or something he complains about body aches...) but today he seemed a little better in the afternoon besides I needed to go get groceries... So we went to Cash Wise ( one of the grocery stores here in town) and picked up some stuff that I needed there and when we checked out Joshua started in being Joshua. He was trying to get candy off of the shelf right next to him and being told no, no, no. Well finally he got it that momma was not going to get him candy today and so he turned to the cashier with a pouty face. She saw it and asked if he could have a sucker. I said yes he could since he is really good with them. HE said "Yes, please!" when asked if he wanted one and then "Phank you" (Thank you in Joshua language...) when she gave him one and helped him open it. She was so amused and pleased to hear such nice manners from such a little boy she asked him if he wanted another one for later. To which he answered (around the first one) "Yes, please." . She gave him another and he said thank you again. Well by this time he had every cashiers attention because the did not expect to here a 2 year old telling people that he was going to put his sucker in his pocket. I got compliment after compliment on his speech and manners. Another cashier decided that she was going to give him a sucker as well just to hear him say Please and Thank you again. We then left and went to wal-mart for the rest of the groceries which went uneventfully. Well when we were done at wal-mart it was time to go get Daddy from work.  Now wensday when we went he wanted to go see his friend Jaunita (Nita) and she was not there. Well today she was schedualed to be back. We pulled up at the doors to Sykes and Joshua hollers from the back seat "Nita's back! See Nita!". He likes to go see Nita and go to Cash Wise since he always gets candy of some sort from BOTH!  Anybody who tries to tell me that child forgets things will be smiled and nodded at and NOT BELIEVED! This is just one more example of his memory...
Anyway I just wanted to share that story with everybody since I thought it was really funny...
